There was no reason to remove this feature in Lion other than in an attempt to mimic the iPad. For example you can once again pin the calendar list to the side of the Calendar application. The cumbersome All My Files finder option seems to update faster, rather than sometimes being a day behind.Īpple has even made little changes in a subtle acknowledgement that Lion's push towards the iPad was a little overboard. And things that were broken in Lion have finally been fixed - for example searching Apple Mail for emails from a specific sender now takes seconds instead of minutes. ![]() Mountain Lion feels faster on my MacBook Pro and is certainly smoother, perhaps smoother than it's been since Leopard. Lion was forced to do the hard work while Mountain Lion gets the glory but, even allowing for this, it's still fair to say that Lion had many problems which seem to be finally fixed. I said earlier in the week that over the years I've become apprehensive about upgrading operating systems, but thankfully so far Mountain Lion has given me little trouble. Just as Windows 7 felt like a Service Pack to fix many issues with Vista, so to does Mountain Lion feel like a Service Pack upgrade to fix Lion. Mailplane 2.2 is a free update for all registered customers. The move from Windows XP to Vista was similarly painful but, once everyone had got onboard with Vista then the upgrade to Windows 7 was much smoother. A full-featured, 30-day demo is available and a recommended update for all customers. For commercial use, volume and site discounts are offered. A Family license (5 users in same household) is available for only $39.95 (USD). * US English, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), French, German, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian (Bokmal), Polish, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, and SwedishĪ single user license is priced at only $24.95 (USD) and may be used by a single person on any Macs. * A much improved attachment download feature. * Better CRM integration with custom auto-insert-BCC script and * Integration with Rapportive and TrueNew plugins for a richer Gmail experience * Improved Mailplane URL to link to any Gmail conversation from anywhere * Support for Gmail's Priority Inbox: receive notifications of "important" messages only Mail can be sent directly from your Mac address book, Safari or any application showing "mailto" URLs. For even more appealing notifications, Mailplane fully integrates with Growl. And because Mailplane monitors all Gmail accounts, unread message counters and message subjects are displayed for each account. Mailplane can play a user-defined sound, as well as show the number of unread messages in the application icon, account drawer and status menu item. And with automatic photo optimization, image attachments can be converted and resized to make the message even smaller. Users can 'drag and drop' files and images on the dock application icon, or any Mailplane window, to create and upload attachments. The integrated screenshot tool lets the user take and attach a window, screen or region. With full iLife integration, users can browse and attach files from their iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom and iTunes libraries. Mailplane supports multiple Gmail and Google Apps accounts and lets the user easily switch between accounts without the need to sign in or out. And since Mailplane doesn't change the way Gmail works, its unique features can still be enjoyed, including conversations, labels, global access, endless storage, spam protection and fast and powerful Google searches. It integrates the Gmail web interface into the Mac experience, offering users the best of both worlds. Acting as a site-specific web browser for Gmail, Mailplane is a fully-fledged mail client for the desktop. Uncomplex gmbh has released Mailplane 2.2, which sports new features including support for Gmail's Priority Inbox, improved attachment downloads, support for the popular Rapportive and TrueNew plugins and more. ![]()
